Acorns- Work for pupils during school closures.
Work for the Acorns, will be delivered through Tapestry this will enable Mrs Varela and Miss Francis to keep in touch and set challenges for the children. In turn you will be also be able to keep in touch with them with work done at home.
Children will also be coming home with learning packs today, these are to be kept ready in the event of the school closing.
We are the Acorns class, this is the school’s foundation class. The children in this class are reception ages of 4 and 5. The children learn in this year by being provided with an enabling environment which offers opportunities for the children to learn in whatever style suits them. Through these principles we enable the child to learn and develop in their own unique way and at their own rate. The children learn by playing, exploring, active learning and creating and thinking critically. The teacher in this class is Mrs Varela and the class teaching assistant is Miss Francis. The children have access to their own playground and a wooded area with a mud kitchen and large sandpit as well as their classroom indoors. As the year progresses the children are developed for the transition to key stage 1 with the gradual introduction of more formal teaching.
