Friends (FADs)

"It's a very good school. I like going on residentials." - Caroline

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the school and introduce you to FADS (Friends of Alburgh with Denton School).

As soon as your child joins the school, you and your family automatically become a member of FADS. We welcome all parents to be involved and the great thing is you don't have to join the committee to help! Whether you have fundraising ideas, enjoy baking or would like to serve drinks at our next event you can join in as much or as little as you like....

We have a FADS Facebook page which we welcome all our new parents to request and join. This provides a supportive network, as well as information about upcoming events, for those times where you forget about an upcoming trip or a non-uniform day!

Over the last few years FADS have been able to raise funds through events which included;

Easter Bingo

Cheese and Wine Evening

Summer Fun Day

Country Fair and Dog Show

Spectacular Science with Mark Thompson

Discos and more

In addition, monies have been raised through designing and selling tea towels and Christmas cards, which all the children enjoy.

We have been able to provide the school with new IT equipment and have put £2000 towards the new Acorns area

The following is an example of what has been spent by FADS:

  • Coaches provided for Whole School Trip
  • Christmas Presents
  • Christmas Party
  • Leavers Gifts
  • Easter Gifts
  • Summer end of term BBQ

Our Accounts are verified by Mr. Andrew Brookes, who acts as an independent examiner for our association.

There are two main ways of getting involved and supporting FADS.

Firstly, we have regular meetings to organise events, which are open to everyone and which are advertised on the school notice board, as well as ParentMail, and FADS facebook page. Our events are only made possible by having lots of helpers and we make it as easy as possible for you to get involved, in as little or as much as you would like.

Secondly, our events are only successful if parents, carers, teachers and governors attend them. There are lots of different events aimed at children, families and adults, so please keep an eye out for these upcoming events over the next academic year.

We look forward to seeing you and for your support over the coming year.
